Last workshop of 2011: MuziekAtelier
On November 29 we had the last workshop of the year with members of the MuziekAtelier, and this time it was open for the public to participate and enjoy singing a few well-known songs with us.
Before the summer, we had a big performance, on which we spent a lot of energy. So for the last period of 2011 we tried to slow down and get back to the core business of singing. The general theme of this period was dreams and dreaming, and so the songs were not difficult to choose: amongst others, we had "(All I Have To Do Is) Dream" by the Everly Brothers and the beautiful song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" to end the 'performance.'
The role of the audience was an active one this time: they participated in our "usual" workshop. And so, they had to sing with us, do the warming up and participate in our discussions and theatre games. I think I can say everyone had a great time, and the experience was a positive one for all involved.
And so another year of MuziekAtelier workshops has gone by. Next year we will take more time to work on the big performance before the summer, and we will forgo a performance in March to focus on the big one at the end of the school year.
